What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 3:00 p.m. and check-out is at 11:00 a.m. Please note that the times may vary depending on the lodging plan.

Do you charge for small children sharing a bed with parents?

Children 12 years old and younger may stay for free when sharing a bed with a parent. However, this is limited to one child per adult. In addition, meals fees are charged separately. Cribs and bed rails are available. Please inform the staff when making a reservation.

What is the view from the room?

Rooms in the Alps Wing face the same direction as the front entrance or face the courtyard. Rooms in the Atago Wing face either the mountain or the courtyard. Rooms in the Usui Wing face either the mountain or the tree grove.

Do the baths in the rooms have access to hot spring water?

All rooms in the Atago Wing have access to hot spring water from Shiozawa Onsen.
The water provided is classified as sodium-chloride and hydrogen carbonate hot spring water.

Is there rental equipment available?

The following items are available. Please ask a staff member if you would like to borrow any of them. However, please note that supplies are limited.

Are guests staying at the hotel charged for parking?

Parking is free of charge. Guests staying at the hotel may use the parking lot that is for the exclusive use of guests.

Can I specify the floor and room number of my room?

We do not accept any special requests, except under some exclusive plans.

Can I stay with a guide dog?

Yes, you can stay with a guide dog. However, we require confirmation of certification in advance.

Can I stay with a pet?

Pets are not allowed to stay with you at the hotel.
Guide dogs, hearing assistance dogs, and service dogs are allowed to stay, but we require confirmation of certification in advance.

Can I check in early?

Early check-in is available from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for 30% of the room rate, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for 50% of the room rate, or earlier than 9:00 a.m. for 100% of the room rate.
However, please note that early check-in may not be possible under certain circumstances.

Can I check out at a later time?

Check-out may be postponed until 2:00 p.m. for 30% of the room rate, until 5:00 p.m. for 50% of the room rate, and later than 5:00 p.m. for 100% of the room rate.
However, please note that late check-out may not be possible under certain circumstances.

Is the hotel wheelchair accessible?

Accessible rooms are available in the Usui Wing.

Are connecting room available?

They are available in the Atago Wing. However, rooms are limited, so please inquire in advance for availability.

Are there cribs or other items available for use?

Cribs and bed rails are available for use free of charge. However, supplies are limited, so please inform the staff in advance.

Are children’s yukata or large sizes available?

Available. Please inquire at the front desk.

Do the rooms contain an electric kettle or microwave?

Rooms contain an electric kettle.
Please contact the front desk staff if you would like something warmed up.

I will be arriving late. Will this present any problems?

Staff members will be on duty awaiting your arrival. If you plan to arrive after 10:00 p.m., please contact the hotel in advance.

Can I leave my luggage at the hotel for safekeeping before or after check-in?

Yes, we accept luggage for safekeeping. Please inform the front desk staff.

Can I send my luggage in advance?

We will keep your luggage until the day of your stay. Please send luggage to the following address.

Can I change or cancel my reservation at the hotel?

If cancelling, we ask that you contact us at least 4 days in advance (or 8 days in advance during peak season). After that, or in the case of a no-show, a cancellation fee will be charged in accordance with the hotel’s Terms and Conditions of Accommodation.
*Peak season: The year-end and New Year holidays, Golden Week, consecutive holidays in summer and autumn (Please contact us for specific dates.)
*However, terms differ for groups and reservations for which separate cancellation policies have been established.
*The cancellation policy may differ depending on the accommodation plan.
*To cancel a reservation made via a travel agency or other reservation site, please contact the agency or site where you made the reservation.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash and credit cards.
We also accept gift certificates, etc. issued by travel agencies and credit card companies.
*We may not be able to accept some gift certificates, so please be sure to inquire in advance.

Dining

Are there any restaurants with a dress code?

When dining in the Main Dining Room or Bar, please refrain from wearing overly revealing clothing to ensure that all guests are able to enjoy a comfortable dining atmosphere.
Please refrain from wearing tank tops, shorts, and flip-flops when visiting.

Are there any restaurants with private rooms?

Private rooms able to accommodate 2 to 8 guests or 2 to 12 guests are available in the Main Dining Room.
Private room rates are as follows.


Period of use: 3 hours
Private room for 2 to 8 guests: ¥22,000
Private room for 2 to 12 guests: ¥55,000
*The above rates include consumption tax.

Will it be possible to accommodate my allergies?

Yes, please feel free to inform us of any allergies you have or ingredients to which you are averse.
We verify the ingredients based on information from the manufacturer.
All dishes are prepared in the same kitchen using the same cooking and cleaning equipment, so there is the possibility of contamination by trace amounts of allergenic substances during the cooking process. There is also the possibility that ingredients will be contaminated by trace amounts of allergenic substances during the manufacturer’s production process.
Please note that, for the aforementioned reasons, the dishes served are not completely allergy-friendly. Please also note that, in the case of a severe allergy, we may have no choice but to refuse service for the safety of the guest.
Please be sure to read the above information before placing an order. We ask the guest to make the final decision.

Are pets allowed in the restaurant?

Dogs are allowed with you in Cafe Terrace only when dining on the terrace (outside). You will be led to the terrace through a special entrance, so please inform a staff member when arriving.

Can I dine at the restaurant without staying at the hotel?

The Main Dining Room, Cafe Terrace and bar are open to anyone.

Are children allowed in the restaurant?

In the Main Dining Room, kid-friendly dishes are available for breakfast, and kids’ plates are available for lunch and dinner. Please contact the hotel for pricing details. High chairs are available for small children.
Children are also welcome in Cafe Terrace.

From what time is breakfast served?

Breakfast from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Last order is at 9:30 a.m.

From what time is dinner served?

Two time slots are available: 5:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. The restaurant closes at 9:00 p.m. Last order is at 8:30 p.m.

Is it necessary to make a reservation for dinner?

It may be possible to seat you even without a reservation if seating is available.
However, if you already know the date and time of your visit, we would appreciate it if you would make a reservation so that we can ensure seating.

Is there a non-smoking (or smoking) area?

The entire hotel is non-smoking. If you wish to smoke, please use the smoking area (outside) located behind the shop.

Can I bring my own food into the restaurant?

No, as a general rule. However, wine may be brought in for a fee. You may bring in your own baby food.

Is baby food available?

We apologize for the inconvenience. The hotel does not offer baby food. We ask that you bring your own.

Is lunch served?

Lunch is from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Last order is at 2:00 p.m.

Can I take uneaten portions of food with me when leaving the restaurant?

For food sanitation reasons and in accordance with strict guidance from the public health center, we do not permit food to be taken from the restaurant.

Can I dine at the restaurant for breakfast without staying at the hotel?

The restaurant is open to anyone.

If I dine at the restaurant, will I be charged for parking?

Parking is free of charge. Please ask the attendant for guidance when parking.
However, please be aware that you may be asked to use a nearby parking lot if no spaces are open. We thank you for your understanding.

Which restaurant serves breakfast?

Breakfast is served as sets and a la carte dishes in the Main Dining Room on the first floor of the Alps Wing.

Can I request for a cake, flowers, etc. to be arranged?

Please inform the staff when making your reservation. When making a reservation online, please enter the details of your request in the entry field. A hotel representative may contact you for confirmation.

Is there a cancellation fee?

All restaurants charge a 100% cancellation fee when cancelling on the day of the reservation.

*During summer season and other times when traffic congestion is expected, we recommend exiting the Joshin-etsu Expressway at the Myogi-Matsuida IC and taking the the Former Usui Pass. (The Old Road rather than the Usui Bypass)

From the Okaya JCT on the Chuo Expressway go to the Koshoku JCT on the Nagano Expressway; then, roughly 30 min from the Komoro IC on the Joshin-etsu Expressway

When coming by train

[Hokuriku Shinkansen]
– From Tokyo to Karuizawa Station: Roughly 1 hour and 10 min
– From Nagano to Karuizawa station: Roughly 30 min
– Roughly 5 min by taxi from Karuizawa Station (2 km)

Is on-site parking available?

Parking is free of charge. Guests staying at the hotel may use the parking lot that is for the exclusive use of guests.
Guests who have come to dine may also use the on-site parking lot. However, please be aware that you may be asked to use a nearby parking lot if no spaces are open. We thank you for your understanding.

Is there a smoking area?

Smoking is prohibited in all guest rooms and throughout the entire hotel. If you wish to smoke, please use the smoking area located outside.

Are wheelchairs available?

Wheelchairs are available for use. However, supplies are limited, so please inform the staff when making your reservation.

Are credit cards accepted?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, Diners Club, UnionPay, and UC cards.

Can I ship luggage from the hotel?

Service is available at the bell counter. Please inform the bell clerk or front desk staff.

Are gift certificates from travel agencies accepted?

We accept gift certificates, etc. issued by travel agencies and credit card companies.
*We may not be able to accept some gift certificates, so please be sure to inquire in advance.

Is there a place to change diapers?

A diaper changing table is available in the accessible restroom in the Alps Wing.

Is there an elevator?

The Alps, Atago, and Usui Wings are equipped with elevators.

Are coin-operated laundry machines available?

No, not in the hotel. However, laundry service is available.

Are studless snow tires or chains required in winter?

From November to April, there is the potential of snowfall and ice forming on road surfaces in the shade, so please be sure to equip your car with winter tires or chains.

How do I get to nearby tourist facilities?

Please take a taxi.

Can I have the hotel arrange a taxi or rental car?

Taxi arrangements: The front desk staff can arrange for taxis departing from the hotel.
Rental car arrangements: We apologize for the inconvenience, but the hotel does not make rental car arrangements. We ask that you make arrangements on your own.

Is there a convenience store?

No, not in the hotel. We can direct you to convenience stores near the station, which is roughly 5 min away by car. Convenience stores in Karuizawa are open from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Is internet access available in the hotel?

Guests have access to Wi-Fi (wireless LAN) in all guestrooms, the lobby, and the restaurants free of charge.

Can I request for a cake, flowers, etc. to be arranged?

Please inquire in advance. We are able to make arrangements based on your budget and requests.

When is room service available?

7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. / 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. / 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
